A young boy smiles while drinking clean water that is pouring out of a faucet.

Did you know that there are still 703 million people that don't have access to this clean water? And a staggering 1.69 billion people lack access to proper sanitation? Every day, nearly 1,000 children under the age of five die because of a combination of poor water, inadequate sanitation and a lack of hygiene. All things that are preventable.

World Vision believes that every child deserves a strong, vibrant, and healthy life, and providing clean water is the crucial first step that enables children to thrive and achieve this goal.

Your support of the Courage Polar Bear Dip will support children and families in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) gain access to clean water and learn about hygiene and sanitation.

Of Zambia's 21 million citizens, 35% still lack access to clean water. In the DRC, of their 110 million people, almost 65% lack basic access to water – that’s 71.5 million people.

Together with the government in Zambia and the DRC, local partners and donors like you, World Vision staff, along with community health workers, are teaching communities the importance of having household sanitation facilities and the need for healthy hygiene practices.

Community members contribute time and labour to build and manage their water systems, adding to the sustainability of the water projects and providing a sense of ownership. Communities will be empowered to maintain and expand the water, sanitation and hygiene programs and practices providing clean water for generations to come!

With your support, World Vision reaches one new person with clean water every 10 seconds.
