6k is the average distance that women and children in Africa walk to fetch dirty water. This grueling walk takes hours and keeps them out of school. The bacteria in the water causes diarrhea and kills 1,000 children under the age of 5 each day.
$50 is all is takes to provide clean water to one person. Thanks to generous donors, World Vision is the largest non-governmental provider of clean water in the developing world. We reach one new person with clean water every 10 seconds and three more schools every day with clean water.
